How I work

A 4-step path from idea to live software

  1. 01 Day 1

    Discover

A focused kickoff: goals, users, success metrics, technical constraints. You leave with a scoped roadmap, fixed price, and exact ship date.

  2. 02 Days 1–3

    Design

Flows, wireframes, and a clickable design system. Daily email updates. You approve the look + flow before a line of production code.

  3. 03 Days 3–18

    Build

I ship in daily increments with live staging links, real-time commits to your GitHub, and an email thread that doesn’t go quiet.

  4. 04 Final day + 30 days

    Launch

QA, perf, security review, soft launch, then full launch. I stay on the line for 30 days post-ship — bug fixes and tuning included.

FAQ

Questions you might be having

How are you different from a freelancer, an agency, or hiring in-house?
Freelancers stall when the scope gets serious. Big agencies bill by the hour and stretch projects. In-house hires take 3–6 months to ramp. I’m one senior full-stack builder covering design, code, AI, and project management end-to-end — fixed price, a hard ship date in weeks, not months, code you own.
What does “fixed price” actually mean?
You get a written quote with a single all-in price, a defined scope, and a guaranteed ship date — within 48 hours of telling me about your project. If I underestimate, that’s on me — not your invoice. Scope changes are quoted separately and only proceed with your explicit approval.
What do projects typically cost?
At launch rates, most projects land between $800 and $1,500 (one-time), depending on scope — see the pricing table on the services page for per-service ranges. A website or a workflow automation is on the lower end; a custom CRM or small app is on the higher end. Every quote is fixed-price, all-in, and written down within 48 hours — so you know exactly what you’re committing to before saying yes.
Do we own the code and the design files?
Yes — fully. Code lives in your GitHub from day one. Design files live in your Figma. No proprietary CMS, no licensing strings, no “you have to keep paying us to host it.” Walk away on day 71 and everything still works.
What if we already have a half-finished build?
About a third of my projects are rescue jobs. I start with a code + architecture audit, then give you a straight assessment of the fastest path to a stable v1 — whether that means finishing the existing build or starting clean. Either way, you get a fixed-scope plan and a ship date.
Who actually does the work?
I do — directly. AetherForge is independent on purpose: one senior full-stack builder covering design, code, AI, and project management end-to-end. No juniors learning on your codebase, no offshore subcontractors, no PM relaying messages. The person you’d talk to is the person writing your code.
How do we get started?
Send me your project — it’s free. I’ll review your goals and current stack, then send a written, fixed-scope quote within 48 hours. No call required. If you say yes, I kick off the following Monday.
What’s outside the scope of what you do?
I don’t take on crypto / Web3 / NFT projects, gambling or sportsbook builds, adult content, or hourly maintenance contracts. If your project lives in one of those areas, I’ll happily point you toward someone who specializes. For everything else — custom software, websites, CRMs, AI workflow automation, dental-lab software — I’m a fit.
What stack do you build on?
Web work: Astro or Next.js for the frontend, TypeScript everywhere, Tailwind for styling, Postgres + Supabase or a managed Postgres for the database, and Vercel or Cloudflare for hosting. AI work: Claude (Anthropic) and OpenAI as the model layer, with Inngest or simple Cloudflare Workers for background jobs. Desktop / offline work (like LabMate): Python + SQLite, packaged with PyInstaller + Inno Setup. I default to these because they let one operator move at the speed of a team, but if you already have a stack I’ll work inside it.
What happens if scope changes mid-project?
Scope changes are normal — they're also where most agencies make their money via hourly creep. My approach: any change you ask for gets re-quoted in writing as an addendum (with a fixed price and a new ship date) before any work begins. You decide whether to accept, defer, or skip. The original quote stays locked.
What about maintenance after the 30-day post-launch window?
The 30 days of free post-ship support cover bug fixes, tuning, and small tweaks. After that, three options: (1) nothing — the code is yours, no retainer required, walk away and it keeps working; (2) a one-off scope for a follow-up feature, quoted fixed-price; (3) a monthly retainer for ongoing changes, capped at a defined hour bank. I don’t do open-ended hourly maintenance contracts — see the "outside the scope" question above.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, standard mutual NDAs before we get into specifics if your project involves anything sensitive. Send me yours, or I’ll send you a clean two-page template. No charge, no negotiation drama — it’s normal.
What if I don’t like the design?
You see flows and wireframes before any production code gets written, and a clickable design system before the build phase starts. If something’s off, we adjust in design — not after the code ships. That said, I won’t litigate every pixel — major direction decisions get your sign-off, smaller details I make calls on so the project keeps moving. You always get the final say on anything that affects how the product feels to your users.

Ready to scope your next project?

Tell me what you’re trying to build — I’ll send the highest-leverage place to start, with a fixed price and ship date, in writing within 48 hours. No call required, no sales pitch.
